DURHAM, NC - The Eagles of North Carolina Central University fell to Houston Baptist three games to none in the nightcap and Eastern Illinois earlier in the day of the Hilton RTP/NCCU Tournament. Megan Klimitchek and Ivana Djordjevic both finished with a game-high of seven kills to lead Houston Baptist to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-21) victory over the Eagles in Friday's final match of the Hilton RTP/NCCU Volleyball Tournament at McLendon-McDougald Gym. The Eagles (0-2) never could get going offensively, as they recorded only 20 kills for the entire three-game match. Avaniki Campbell led the Eagles with six kills and Ashley Shade had a team-high of 15 assists. Eastern Illinois was NCCU's first opponent for the season, but fell to the Panthers 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-23). Aqiyla Gomez led NCCU with a team high six kills. The Eagles had 10 service aces and total blocks for the game. Up next for NCCU, they will face the 49ers of UNC Charlotte at 1 p.m.
