DURHAM, N.C. - Dacula High School standout Courtney Williams signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her volleyball career at North Carolina Central University, head coach Georgette Crawford-Crooks announced on Thursday.

"Courtney will be a great addition to our team," said Crawford-Crooks. "She will bring height and depth to our offense, and her strength on the net will help with our blocking game. I am excited to have her join our team and I know she will be a great asset to our volleyball program."

Williams, a 6-2 middle blocker from Dacula, Ga., averaged 17 kills, while contributing four assists and three aces per match during her senior season. She played on the volleyball team at Dacula High School for four years, while also participating on the Atlanta Boom 18 Diamond team.

Not only was she a standout on the volleyball court, but Williams was a successful basketball player for the Falcons. On the hardwood, she averaged 13 points per game as a senior, while grabbing at least 10 rebounds.

At NCCU, Williams plans to major in Psychology, where she can fulfill her dream of becoming a Sports Psychiatrist. The Georgia native will join the Eagles for the 2009 season.
