Final Stats

DURHAM, NC - American University volleyball team defeated North Carolina Central University Thursday night in the nation's capitol. The Eagles won the match 25-18, 25-18, and 25-13.

NCCU kept it close in set two after leading 5-0, but could not overcome AU's accurate hitting.

American, which improved to 19-7 on the season, was led by Rubena Sukaj with a match-high of 16 kills.

As a team, the Spartans recorded 44 kills on 94 attempts and committed 15 errors. The Eagles finished with 24 kills on 78 attempts and had 11 errors.

Avaniki Campbell totaled seven kills and Aqiyla Gomez was second with six kills. NCCU falls to 5-24.
