Sept. 6, 2008 DURHAM, NC - North Carolina Central University Volleyball team couldn't slow down an attacking squad of host Winthrop University in dropping their second match of the Hilton Garden Inn Winthrop Classic 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-10). NCCU (0-6) generated only a -.083 hitting percentage for the match. Meanwhile, Winthrop hit a sizzling .359 for the match, pounding out 40 kills to only 12 for the Eagles. NCCU was led by Avaniki Campbell who recorded five kills. Rachel Lloyd was the team leader with nine digs. Winthrop was led by Shannon Sitzmann who had 11 kills to go along with her .529 hitting percentage. In game two, the Eagles (0-7) took West Virginia (2-4) to four games, before falling 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 20-25, and 25-12). Avaniki Campbell led the team with eight kills, while Nadia Hayes and Shania Pryor each had five. Rachel Lloyd led the team with 12 digs. Kristina Gallahan had a match-high of 14 kills, and Nicole Jones with a match-high of 34 assists for West Virginia.
