Final Stats

DURHAM, NC - The North Carolina Central University volleyball team got off to a tough start in the opening match of the Hilton Garden Inn Winthrop Classic, by losing to Morehead State 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-17) on Friday afternoon.

MSU dominated the match, hitting .287 and holding NCCU to an .-083 hitting percentage. The Eagles were unable to find any consistent offense, and had trouble mounting any significant scoring rallies.

Nadia Hayes led NCCU with three kills. Shantel Moore led the team with 10 digs. Kaitlin Craven led MSU with a match-high of 10 kills.

NCCU will play host team Winthrop at 10 a.m. on Saturday and take on West Virginia at 4 p.m.
