Final Stats

DURHAM, NC - Kathleen Hicks had a game-high of 13 kills to lead UNC Charlotte to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-10) victory over North Carolina Central University in the Hilton RTP/NCCU Volleyball Tournament held at McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium.

NCCU's (0-3) Avaniki Campbell led the Eagles with six kills and Ashley Shade had a team-high of seven assists in the loss.

The Eagles stayed close throughout the second game, battling back from a five-point deficit to cut the 49er's lead to within one, but UNCC pulled away to take games two and three.

With the win, Charlotte faced Elon in the tournament championship game. Elon defeated UNCC 3-1. In the consolation game, Houston Baptist defeated the University of Maine 3-1.

NCCU junior defensive specialist Rachel Lloyd was named to the All-Tournament Team.
