(Written by Greg Harris or G. Alan, Inc., sponsor of NCCU Athletics) Thursday, November 6th: I met the team at RDU International Airport Thursday morning for the trip to play Cal Poly. Due to the long flight and bus ride the coaches decided to travel on Thursday so the players could get ample rest and adjust to the time change on the west coast. There were approximately 95 players and support staff on the trip. The check-in process went very smoothly. Each position coach was responsible for his players and from my observation it was a great learning experience for some of the players as they had never flown. The flight was for the most part uneventful; however, I must admit with the size of the players on board the plane seemed over capacity. There were some players who had to shift around as their seats were too small, the aisle was full of legs and shoulders and there simply wasn't enough room to be comfortable for some of them. Upon arriving at LAX, we bused 3 hours north to San Luis Obispo. Riding up the 101 was very majestic, the Pacific ocean on the left and the beautiful mountains on the right. The evening consisted of a light practice at a local high school and dinner at a local buffet. Overall the day went very well and it was good to see the team operate in a very efficient and organized manner. It's 1:15am EST and we had a long day so I'm headed to bed. Gregory
