DURHAM, N.C. - North Carolina Central University head football coach Mose Rison took time away from the Eagles' spring football practice regiment to take part in a literacy campaign at nearby C.C. Spaulding Elementary School.

On Wednesday (March 4), after leading his team through an early morning practice, Rison visited Robert Lavender's fourth-grade class to read "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!" by Dr. Seuss.

Rison told the group that when he received the invitation from reading recovery teach Marion Horn, he was more excited about the opportunity to read to the class than the opening of spring football practice.

Among the questions posed to Rison after he concluded the book, one of the students asked, "Can we get free tickets?"

Rison promised to return to the school for more reading sessions and asked the students if they would like for him to bring some of the Eagle football players. The fourth graders responded with a resounding, "Yeah!"
