THE GAME: North Carolina Central University travels to Ohio to play the Zips of the University of Akron for the first time... On Saturday, the Eagles will play in their sixth different state (New Jersey, Florida, North Dakota, Maryland, Iowa, Ohio) since their first road game on Nov. 12... The Zips compete in the Mid-American Conference... This is the Eagles' 11th road game of the season and NCCU does not return home until Dec. 29.

THE SERIES: This will be the first meeting between the Zips of the University of Akron and the Eagles of North Carolina Central University.

UP NEXT: The Eagles break for eight days so the student-athletes can take final exams before NCCU's next game at UNC Wilmington on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m.

AYALA EQUALS SEASON-HIGH SCORING AGAINST CATAMOUNTS: NCCU junior guard Bryan Ayala equalled a season-high with 23 points at Western Carolina University on Wednesday (Dec. 5). Ayala's other 23-point performance came against the two-time defending champion Gators of the University of Florida on Nov. 14.
