NCCU'S DALLEY NAMED BLACK COLLEGE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

PIKESVILLE, MD - North Carolina Central University freshman Douglas Dalley has been named the BlackCollegeBaseball.com Pitcher of the Week after his performance during the week of March 17-23.

Dalley, a Durham, N.C. native out of Southern High School, appeared in four games for the Eagles last week without allowing an earned run. He posted a 2-0 record with two starts and two one-inning relief stints.

In 15.2 innings of action, Dalley struck out 18 batters and surrendered only eight hits in 56 at-bats, holding the opposition to a .143 batting average.

Against Saint Augustine's College on Sunday (March 23), Dalley pitched eight innings for a complete-game, extra-inning victory, scattering five hits and striking out 11 Falcons. The Eagles scored in the bottom of the eighth for a 3-2 win.

In his start versus Virginia State University on Tuesday (March 18), Dalley struck out six batters and allowed only two hits in 5.2 innings of work. NCCU won the game 5-2.

On the season, Dalley has a team-best 3.45 earned run average with a 2-2 record in eight appearances, including six starts on the mound. He also leads the Eagles with 34 strikeouts in 31.1 innings, and boasts the team's lowest opponent batting average of .225.
