2009: Another freshman that made an instant impact on the squad by making a team-high 20 appearances and four starts. One of three Eagles to throw a complete game (Brandon Oatis and Jeff Citero). Led the team with 2 wins along with 3 saves a team-high. Held opposing batters to a .257 batting average, which was also no.1 on the team. He was third on the squad throwing 44.0 innings, and ended his rookie season with the third best ERA (6.95), tied Joseph Cobb for fourth on team in strikeouts (20). Recorded NCCU's first Division I save on March 7 against Savannah State going 1.0 inning, not allowing a hit, while striking out and walking 1 apiece in the Eagles 9-6 over the Tigers. Earned his second save three days later against Coppin State in 2.1 innings shutting down the visiting Eagle lineup with another strike out and a walk. From March 7-17 did not allow a hit or run for 5.2 innings. ERA shrunk to 2.31 after another scoreless performance against rival North Carolina A&T on March 23. Recorded his first career win against Virginia State on March 25 throwing a complete game 9.0 innings surrendering just 3 runs on 2 hits while striking out 3 and walking 3 in the Eagles 4-3 win. His second win of the season came on April 13, when he came in on-relief for a 3.0 inning shutout against Coppin State in NCCU's 12-7 win. Racked up his final save of the season on Senior Day going 2.0 innings and allowing no earned runs to help the Eagles hang on for the 7-6. Struck out at-least one batter in 13 of his 20 appearances. Also played sparingly behind-the- plate, making 2 starts at catcher along with spot duty in 5 other contests. Went 0-for-12 at the dish with 1 walk and a sacrifice bunt to his credit.

High School (Bunn H.S.): Earned All-Conference honors and "Coaches Award" during junior and senior seasons. Named MVP of Louisburg Easter Tournament during his junior year. Vital part of Bunn's back-to-back conference title run.
