Struck out 10 batters which placed him seventh on the team and threw 26.1 innings which was sixth-best on the squad. Threw a combined 3.1 innings at Longwood (April 9) allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 1 strike out. Surrendered 1 earned run or less in 5 appearances. Had 1 strike out or more in 8 outings. 2008: No. 1 on the team in number of appearances (18). Tied with two other Eagles with two wins on the season. Worked the second-most innings on the team (43.2) mostly in relief, making just two starts. Second in strikeouts (36). In 11 of 18 appearances gave up one run or less. Kept opponents scoreless in four of first five games, pitching 11.1 innings. Earned both wins of the season during that span. Only save came against Virginia State, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing only two hits. Saw ERA shrink to 2.87 following that performance. Struck out a season-high six batters March 15 against Savannah State. Swain County HS: All-around athlete, Named Baseball Team MVP his junior year, and was selected to the Smokey Mountain All-Conference Team both Junior and Senior season. Played running back on the 2002 Smokey Mountain Conference Champion football team, named Honorable Mention All-Conference as a goalie for the soccer team as a senior, and won the Team MVP award for Cross-Country Personal: Born April 7, 1987 in Providence, Rhode Island.
