Results

The NCCU track and field men's and women's team opened the new year on Saturday as they traveled to the Eddie Smith Field House in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to participate in the Joe Hilton Tar Heel Invitational.

NCCU's sophomore Brandon Jones finished second in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:19.32. The men's distance medley finished second behind UNC Chapel Hill, with a time of 10:32.08. Members of the NCCU team were Brandon Jones, James Kukat, Maurice Gailey, and Rashaad Lee.

NCCU's Freshman Saquenda Dallas finished third in the triple jump behind Demiracle Washington of NC State and Erica Foushee of UNC. Desinia Johnson finished third in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:28, and in the shot put Latasha Jones finished second with a throw of 13.10m.
