DURHAM, N.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - There are the Emmys, the Oscars, the Grammys, and now the Eddies. North Carolina Central University's traditional annual awards banquet has taken a new form and adopted a new name, "The Eddies," which will be held Monday, April 26 at B.N. Duke Auditorium starting at 6:30 p.m. The event, named in honor of NCCU's mascot Eddie the Eagle, is open to the public and admission is free. In years past, the occasion has included a guest speaker and dinner in the format of a typical banquet. This year, the program will be similar to an awards show with performances by NCCU student-athletes mixed among the awards presentations, followed by a post-event reception. The Eddies will also feature a live band, Intimate Soul, and a video tribute to the 2009-10 NCCU student-athletes.
NOTE: B.N. Duke Auditorium is located on the corner of Fayetteville Street and Alston Avenue on the campus of NCCU.
