Sean Thomas, ATC, LAT Sean Thomas enters his third year as Head Athletic Trainer at North Carolina Central University. Sean is no stranger to the university. He earned a Bachelor's Degree (1995) in Physical Education and a Master's degree (1998) in Physical Education with a specialty in Adaptive Physical Education at North Carolina Central. Prior to coming to NCCU, he was employed as Head Athletic Trainer at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte (2003-2006) where he also taught some classes in Physical Education. In 1999, he joined the Athletic Training staff at Columbia University in New York as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in charge of men's basketball, cross country, and men's and women's outdoor track and as an Associate Professor in Physical Education. Thomas served as a Graduate Assistant at NCCU while completing his Master's Degree, in charge of both basketball programs as well as volleyball. The winner of a Professional Football Athletic Trainers (PFAT) Scholarship, he worked for the Carolina Panthers during the 1996, 1999 and 2000 preseason camps. In the summer of 1997, Thomas was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Durham Braves of the Coastal Plain Baseball League. Thomas is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and licensed by the State of North Carolina. He makes his home in Durham. |
