Nicole Mitchell joined the North Carolina Central University Eagle family in August of 2007 as a graduate student majoring in Athletic Administration. She is entering her second year as a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Information Office.

Mitchell graduated from Elizabeth City State University in December of 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. While there, she served as a student assistant to the sports information director, April Emory, for three years. Mitchell's major duties included statistical input, official scorekeeping, media guide publications, and press releases for volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball and football. During that time she also served as a student assistant for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Basketball Tournament from 2003-2007. In 2005, Mitchell was the press coordinator at the CIAA Baseball Championship in Petersburg, Va.

While at ECSU, Mitchell was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Student Activities Committee. In the fall of 2006, as her senior project, Mitchell served as the Athletics Department intern. During that time, focus was spent on learning the different aspects of the NCAA compliance rules and regulations.

A native of Long Island, N.Y., Mitchell is the older of two children by Ty Mitchell and Donna Torres. Younger brother Caleb resides in Florida. Mitchell currently resides in Morrisville, N.C. while continuing her education.
