After Saint Augustine's College, Washington worked for The Onnidan Group as an operations assistant. There she served in an official statistician capacity for various athletic programs for Division I, II, and III colleges and universities, as well as the CIAA and MEAC Basketball Tournaments.

Prior to becoming Sports Information Director, Washington spent two years as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball, basketball, and softball teams at Saint Paul's College. She helped lead the Lady Tigers volleyball team to a berth in the 2000 CIAA Volleyball Championships.

A native of Dillwyn, Va., Washington is the daughter of Otto and Ophelia Washington, and has one sibling Otto, Jr. She is also the cousin of Academy Award winner Denzel Washington.
