Nov. 1, 2007 DURHAM, NC - The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics and its student-athletes will help feed those in need during the upcoming holiday season by collecting non-perishable food items (canned goods, bottled water, etc.) as admission to this Saturday's women's and men's basketball doubleheader inside NCCU's McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium. On Saturday (Nov. 3), the public will have its first opportunity to see the 2007-08 NCCU basketball teams in action when the Lady Eagles host Virginia State University for an exhibition game beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the men's basketball "Maroon and Gray" scrimmage. The items collected for admission by NCCU student-athletes will be donated to the Durham Rescue Mission (www.durhamrescuemission.org). In lieu of non-perishable food items, monetary donations will be accepted for admission to the event. For more information, please contact the NCCU Department of Athletics at (919) 530-7057. |
